RDB Rotating Disconnectors
Rated up to 72.5kV, 2500A, 31.5kA/3secs, the standard M.L.E. Rotating Double Break (RDB) disconnector provides an effective solution to isolation in substation applications. The contacts are similar to those used on our RX range of disconnectors. The electro-mechanical forces are kept ’in-line’ to achieve high short time current ratings. The swivel contacts are made of high conductivity material and are designed to withstand the short time current without welding. The shaft of the bearing for the rotating insulator is manufactured from high grade stainless steel, and is fitted with ‘sealed for life’ ballraces. No maintenance is required.

RDB Major Pattern Rotating Disconnectors
Morris Line Engineering has developed a fully type tested RDB Major Pattern Rotating Disconnector rated up to 145kV, 2000A, 40kA/3secs, using Silicone Rubber or Porcelain Insulators. The basic design has been developed using the concept of the 72.5kV rotating range, which has proved very reliable and successful. Our design team has used the concept of a locking/guide arrangement on all the contacts that acts when the disconnector is in the closed position preventing contact separation and contact pressure variation when using silicone insulators under fault conditions. All the contact spring pressure are accurately achieved by using adjustable contact fingers which are set up once the forces of any bus bar or conductors are connected to the connector pads, this concept maintains the correct pressure as was originally type tested. The disconnector may be either manually operated or motorised, with earth blades available for fitment on either or both sides of the disconnector.

RSB Rotating Disconnectors
The M.L.E. Rotating Single Break (RSB) disconnector is of the same basic design as the RDB. It is available rated up to 72.5kV, 1250A, 25kA/3secs, with both porcelain and polymeric insulators.

Earth Blades
All disconnectors & switches can be supplied with mechanically interlocked earth blades on `LIVE’ side or `DEAD’ side if required.

The fitting of MLE interrupter heads converts a basic single break and double break rotating disconnector into a load break switch.
Disconnector-Fuses & Switch-Fuses
The basic single break and double break disconnector and load break switch can be combined with a variety of fuse arrangements to meet the requirements of most distribution systems.
